Our group training classes are designed to teach both you and your dog the skills needed for success at home and in everyday life. Using positive reinforcement methods, our trainers guide you through each exercise while showing you exactly how to continue building good habits between classes and at home.
Our Puppy Basic Obedience and Adult Basic Obedience programs follow a structured six-week curriculum, with each class building on the skills learned the week before to create lasting progress and confidence. For younger puppies, our Puppy Social classes are offered weekly as individual sessions, providing a fun and safe environment to develop social skills during this important stage of development.
Whether you’re raising a new puppy or looking to strengthen your adult dog’s obedience, our small-group classes provide personalized instruction, real-world practice, and a fun, supportive learning environment for both ends of the leash.

Pricing and Class Schedule
Puppy Social
8 Weeks to 16 Weeks
Our Puppy Social classes provide a safe, supervised environment where young puppies can meet new friends, explore new experiences, and develop positive social skills. Each class is led by our trainers to ensure every interaction is fun, safe, and rewarding.
Saturdays: 10:15am to 11:00am
(excluding holidays)
$55 per class
Puppy Basic Obedience
3 months to 6 months.
Set your puppy up for lifelong success. This six-week program teaches the foundations of good behavior while giving you the skills and confidence to continue training at home using positive reinforcement.
Saturdays: 9:00am to 9:50am
(excluding holidays)
$75 per class
Adult Basic Obedience
6 months and older.
Imagine enjoying walks without pulling, calm greetings with family and guests, and a dog who listens when it matters most. Our six-week Basic Obedience Class teaches adolescent and adult dogs the essential skills that make everyday life more enjoyable and more rewarding.
Saturdays: 11:45am to 12:45pm
(excluding holidays)
$75 per class
We understand that plans can change!
We do not offer make-up classes. However, if you miss a class, your instructor can fill you in on what was covered, and in many cases, skills are reviewed again in future classes, so you won’t be left behind.
Training add-ons are perfect for providing extra personalized attention alongside your dog’s regular enrichment experience at Happy Paws. If you’re interested in add-ons, they can be added to your reservation on the pet parent portal or you can give us a call at 202-763-7297.
To receive a refund,
you must cancel your registration at least 6 business days before the start of class. Refunds are not available after that time.
